REPORT FROM BILL IN MONGOLIA
October 3, 2009
Dear brethren,
My time in Mongolia has been brief. The time has just flown. But that's because I have truly been busy. I've managed to teach eleven classes of Spoken English here in Zuunmod each week. In addition I've had three 2-hour classes each week at the Health Sciences University in Ylaan Baatar. In all these classes I have used the New Testament as a reading text and the students (most of whom are either Buddhist or have no religion) have enjoyed the exposure to Christianity. I am using the NT which John and the We Care program have made so popular.
But all this teaching is only my second goal. My friend, Sendai, and I have spent a lot of time finding contacts referred to me by the World English Institute (an on-line program of our brethren to teach the Bible by offering English language studies free). I was given sixty referrals and began by contacting those who had emailed me of their interests. This amounted to thirteen students. We have been able to contact seven and from that have engaged in a weekly Bible study with one very worthwhile man. His name is Munkhtuvshin. He has a lovely wife and two very active young boys. My other priority has been to teach a Bible class each Sunday at Sendai's church and to teach another Bible class at a small church group on Wednesday evenings in Ylaam Baatar.
No, I've not baptized anyone as yet. But ground work has been done for further work here. These people have a zeal for God, but, unfortunately, not in knowledge. In these cases, it seems, they need to unlearn a lot in order to learn the way of the Lord more perfectly.
Thank you so very much for all your prayers and remembrances of this work. God is Good.
