AMEN (American Military Evangelizing Nations) is a ministry dedicated to serving the needs of Christians in the military around the world. Beginning in 1976 as an outreach of the White's Ferry Rd. church of Christ in West Monroe, Louisiana, AMEN has been a focal point for many services to both the families left at home and those deployed overseas.
Over the past 28 years, a network of AMEN Key Contact persons has been established in 400 congregations located near almost every major military installation and base in the world. By submitting an AMEN "Locator" form, families and friends of military personnel notify the AMEN office of their friend or loved one's assignment and location. The Key Contact in that area is then notified, who in turn gets in touch with the person referred. When contact is made, the Key person reports back to AMEN. If the person is transferred again, the Key person again notifies AMEN and we are able to track the contact from base to base. Friendships established by these AMEN contacts have been invaluable to thousands of Christians in the military away from home and family.
In addition to the initial contacts, AMEN has been able to minister to Christians in the military in many other ways by providing care packages, Bibles and other Christian literature, emergency financial aid, Communion supplies, and most importantly, a family of local Christians to love and with whom they can study and pray.
If you are coming to Fort Leavenworth, please let the AMEN ministry leader know, whose name is on the "Ministries" page. You may go to the "Contact" page and send an email there.
If you are moving elsewhere, you can fill out a locator form on the A.M.E.N. Web Site .
